We would like to share our tips on a natural way to reduce inflammation…
Have a healthy diet for a speedy recover, weather it’s child birth, illness, sports injury or operations this diet will certainly help you:
Firstly lots of rest and listen to your body, you know yourself best!
Drink plenty of water, I know we hear that all the time but it does help, you can always get your water intake up with more interesting ways of consuming it like smoothies, herbal tea (none caffaine), warm water with lemon and honey.
Green smoothies, consume a green smoothie everyday, preferably 3 times a day. We use a vitamix, its pricey but really worth it, as it gets even greens like kale to be smooth and bit free. My favourite green smoothie is , spinach (a hand full), bannana x 1, strawberries (a handful), with a little flax seed oil, and water.
Fruits and vegetables are high in inflammation-reducing antioxidants, and can be gained by having your smoothie.
Herbs and spices include compounds that reduce inflammation.
foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, for example: wild salmon, sardines, herring, anchovies, flaxseed, hempseed and walnuts. olive oil, avocado oil, flaxseed oil, hempseed oil and walnut oil.
monounsaturated oils such as extra-virgin olive oil and omega-3 fatty acids found in fatty fish, fish oil, walnut and walnut oil, flax and flaxseed oil, and hempseed and hempseed oil. (by adding some to your smoothie you don’t have to taste the oil but you still get the nutrients)
Unhealthy fats promote inflammation therefore things you need to cut out are:
No caffeine or alcohol
Cut out sugars, dairy and refined foods, I know that sounds hard but a great sandwich to make is; sprouted bread, avocado, lemon, rocket salad and sundried tomatoes. It tastes amazing and is really great for you.
Reduce unhealthy fat intake such as margarine, deep-fried foods and any foods that contain trans fat or that are high in saturated fat.
Reduce your stress, this is not food related, however, reducing your stress can promote anti-inflammation.
